My Closest Friend
My Closest Friend is a an ongoing project investigating the
visual connections that tie me to my hometown, old friends
and family.
The title wants to play on the idea that all these places,
people and details bring to the surface a melancholic, bittersweet feeling that the sight of a close friend seen after a long time would give you.
At the same time it refers to the actual proximity to the subjects: sometimes the closest we get to things, the blurrier they get - the challenge is to recover and recognise their beauty even if the lines are blurred and the colours mixed.
